World Leads for Bolt and Defar the Highlights in Oslo’s Bislett Stadium
The ExxonMobil Bislett Games on Thursday evening enjoyed two world leads as the sixth stage of the 2013 IAAF Diamond League arrived in Oslo for the prestigious athletic event.

Fourth Oslo win for Defar
Two-time Olympic 5000m champion Meseret Defar is the distance queen of Oslo. The Ethiopian has won here three times before, highlighted by her 2007 World record of 14:16.63. She was beaten by Genzebe Dibaba in Shanghai in her first Diamond League appearance of 2013, but Defar wasn’t ready to suffer a defeat on one of her favourite European tracks.

The “British kings of middle distance” will collectively return to Oslo for the first time in nearly a quarter of a century when they gather in Oslo to celebrate the Exxon Mobil Bislett Games on 13th of June. In the late 70s and early 80s Seb Coe, Steve Ovett and Steve Cram were the most recognizable athletes in the world and the most dominant.

Bolt to face the Norwegian challenge
Excitement will be at fever pitch in Oslo’s Bislett stadium when the world greatest athlete Usain Bolt is challenged by the local Norwegian favourite Jaysuma Saidy Ndure in the 200m which will be the highlight of this year’s Exxon Mobil Bislett Games. This will be the second instalment of the IAAF’s Diamond League to be held in Europe.
