Today’s press conference, held at Oslo’s impressive new library alongside the historic strawberry party welcomed two groups of athletes competing tomorrow at the Bislett Games.
- The best meeting ever for packed stands

This will be an evening for the history books, says meeting director Steinar Hoen. Today the start lists were launched, and which fields we will see on Thursday evening.
Rumours of "his death" were greatly exaggerated
While Jakob Ingebrigtsen more as expected took home the victory in the 1,500 meters during the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Rabat on Sunday, what happened in the Belgian Oordegem the evening before was more sensational - but no less gratifying. And is helping to create even more interest in what will happen at Bislett on 15 June.
"Warming up" before the Bislett party on 15 June
On Sunday, Jakob Ingebrigtsen begins the 2023 track season during the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Rabat. The 1500 meters in Morocco brings together some of the best. But the Oslo Bislett Games on Thursday 15 June brings together eight of the top nine in the World Ranking. Rabat will give a clue, but Bislett will give more answers.
Things will go fast at Bislett on 15 June
Fasten the seat belts as we present the athletes scheduled to run the men’s 200 meter and 400 meters at Oslo Bislett Games on Thursday 15 June. Yes, the starting lists are so strong that the track records of Usain Bolt and Michael Johnson may be in danger.
The value of the long hurdles has exploded
You don't have to go back more than a decade before the organizers of the Wanda Diamond League meetings frowned a little at having 400 meters hurdles on the program. Karsten Warholm is one of several who have helped turn this around.
Strong girls in the ring
Led by last year's world champion Chase Ealey from the USA, it is building up to a very strong shot put competition at the Wanda Diamond League meeting at Bislett on June 15, where five of the six bests in the world ranking are on the start list.
The best in the World will jump in the pit
With five of the top six in the World Rankings in place, the men's long jump competition at the Wanda Diamond League meet at Bislett will be another event of quality on par with a global championship final. In addition, the start list includes Norway’s three best jumpers, who have a duel in the duel to be the best domestic jumper. And maybe they can challenge some of the world tops.
Merited field in women’s triple jump
Last year's European champion Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk from Ukraine, and the silver and bronze medallist from last summer's World Championships, Shanieka Ricketts from Jamaica and Tori Franklin from the USA, are the top names in the women's triple jump competition during this year's Wanda Diamond League meeting at Bislett.
Duplantis, the Norwegians and the rest of the world elite
If we are to summarize the pole vault winter of 2023, we are left with two big names. Swedish Armand Duplantis, who improved the world record to 6.22, and our own Sondre Guttormsen, who secured the European Championships gold indoors and became the latest addition to the exclusive list of jumpers who have cleared the magical six metres. These two are at the head of an exquisite start list for pole vault at the Wanda Diamond League meet at Bislett on 15 June where, at the time of writing, nine of the top ten in the world ranking are present.
