Bolt and Powell train at Bislett
Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell tried out the Bislett track on Monday to prepare for the great race on Thursday.
2012 the Year of Thorkildsen
In 2012 Norway’s Andreas Thorkildsen will have just one focus retaining his Olympic gold medal in the javelin and therefore achieving “legendry” status by winning three consecutive Olympics. Although his motivation is London, Thorkildsen will want a bold showing in the upcoming ExxonMobil Bislett Games to reaffirm his confidence for later in the year. After a purposely slow start to his competitive season, Thorkildsen showed recently in Ostrava that he is rounding into very good form and that really big throws are imminent. In the past one of the venues where he has excelled is at Oslo’s Bislett stadium where he recorded his personal best throw of 91.59m!
Bolt has arrived in Oslo
"I will run my best and give the audience what they came here for" The world´s fastest man arrived in Oslo Sunday night to participate in the ExxonMobil Bislett Games. At the Gardermoen airport, he got a lot of attention from the media. They met a confident Bolt who looked forward to running at Bislett.
Triple Jump rivalry extends to Bislett
A competitive triple jump rivalry that commenced in London late last season and extended to the World Championships in Daegu last year , between British veteran Phillips Idowu and the young American Christian Taylor will be reignited at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games in Oslo on June 7th.

Pearson’s quest for London glory starts in Oslo
The IAAF’s female “Athlete of the Year” for 2011 will start her European campaign at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games in Oslo. Pearson was nothing short of sensational in 2011, highlighted by an emphatic win at the World Championships in Daegu, Korea. Her winning time of 12.28 for the 100m hurdles was the fourth fastest time ever recorded for the event and has earmarked the 2008 Olympic silver medallist as a clear favourite for the event at the London Olympics later this year.
Bekele returns to Bislett
Ethopia’s Kenenisa Bekele, the man universally regarded as the greatest distance runner of all time will contest the 5000m at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games in Oslo on June 7th. Bekele a multi medallist at World Championships and Olympic Games will use the race in the Samsung Diamond League as an important ingredient in his preparation to defend his 5000m Gold medal in London Olympic Games later this year.
Powell to challenge Bolt at Bislett on 7 June
The former 100m World Record holder, Asafa Powell, will be competing at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games on 7 June, 2012, giving the Bislett audience the chance to watch the two men go head to head only a few weeks ahead of the Olympics in London.
Usain Bolt to run 100m at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games – Samsung Diamond League
The triple World record holder, Usain Bolt, will be competing in the ExxonMobil Bislett Games on 7th June in Oslo, Norway in the 100 metres.<br />The meeting in Oslo is one of 14 Samsung Diamond League meets in 2012 and the first in which Bolt has confirmed his participation.
