Oslo Bislett Games aims to be the world's most sustainable athletics event. It also wants to expose the City of Oslo’s work for a more sustainable society.
With this commitment, creating a safe event which is socially inclusive, regardless of geographic background, ethnicity, religion, disability, age or gender is crucial. A respectful approach to all stakeholders is essential. The event strives to eliminate all kinds of discrimination.
Fairness, equality and sportsmanship are the core values of athletics. Oslo Bislett Games wishes to promote diversity and to ensure that all athletes, staff, spectators, volunteers and other key stakeholders are treated with respect, fairness and equality.
Our Anti-Discrimination Policy outlines the following principles:
- Community impact: Oslo Bislett Games actively promotes community impact by engaging local clubs in event management, involving local and national audiences, and featuring athletes from diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities, in the pre-programme events.
- Equal opportunities: We uphold principles of respect, fair competition, sporting format and equal resource allocation to ensure all participants have equitable opportunities to succeed.
- Global + regional representation: The event showcases both local and global representation, with audiences and competitors hailing from various Norwegian regions in the pre-event and various continents represented in the main programme, fostering a diverse and inclusive atmosphere.
- Facility improvement/legacy: Oslo Bislett Games prioritizes ongoing improvement, including volunteer training in sports and event management, and transparently shares progress and results with stakeholders to leave a lasting legacy of excellence.
Diversity, accessibility, wellbeing
- Diversity /inclusion: We ensure diversity and inclusion by offering equal opportunities regardless of background, gender, disabilities, or ethnicity within our HR policies.
- Diversity /inclusion: Oslo Bislett Games and Bislett Stadium is an arena that is designed with universal accessibility in mind, making it accessible for spectators and athletes with disabilities. We include para races in the pre programme as well as age-bonded category races, thus promoting inclusivity.
- Health and safety HR: Our commitment to health and safety is evident through our risk analysis planning. The plan is evaluated each year and shared with key stakeholders and event staff.
- Wellbeing: Wellbeing is prioritized through initiatives such as providing free tap and bottled water for athletes, available when needed, offering healthy food options at food trucks and stadium kiosks for the audience, all with vegetarian choices, and maintaining a PA system with dB control for audience comfort among other initiatives.
Our Anti-Discrimination Policy includes the following measures:
- Equal Opportunities: Oslo Bislett Games provides equal opportunities for all participants to compete, spectate, and work at the event, irrespective of their background or characteristics.
- Inclusivity: We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported. We strive to create a welcoming and safe environment and ensure that everyone feels included and welcome, where no one is subjected to discrimination and harassment.
- Visibility of Policy: The Oslo Bislett Games EDI policy will be prominently displayed and easily accessible to all stakeholders, including attendees, athletes, staff, volunteers, and partners. It will be included in event materials, and prominently featured on the event website to ensure maximum visibility and awareness
- Zero Tolerance: Discriminatory behavior, including but not limited to racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, ableism, ageism, or religious intolerance, will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
- Respect: We expect all individuals involved in the event to treat each other with respect, courtesy, and professionalism, regardless of differences in opinion or identity. We do not tolerate any behavior that undermines our mission to create an event that is respectful and inclusive of all attendees, staff, volunteers, athletes, and vendors.
- Reporting Mechanisms: Any instances of discrimination, harassment, or misconduct should be reported immediately to event organizers or designated staff members. Reports will be taken seriously and handled promptly and confidentially. We provide a hub on our website and QR-codes at the stadium where anyone can report an incident. We will seek feedback from attendees, athletes, staff, volunteers, and partners to inform our decision-making, and we will make any necessary adjustments to our policies and practices to ensure we are meeting our commitments.
- Investigation and Action: Upon receiving a report of discrimination, event organizers will conduct a thorough investigation and take appropriate action, which may include disciplinary measures such as warnings, expulsion from the event, or legal action if necessary.
- Education and Awareness: We are committed to raising awareness about discrimination and promoting education initiatives to foster understanding and empathy among participants, staff, and spectators.
- Continuous Improvement: Oslo Bislett Games will continuously review and improve its policies and practices to ensure that they reflect best practices in combating discrimination and promoting diversity and inclusion. Feedback from stakeholders will be actively sought, and necessary adjustments will be made to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with our EDI goals.

WADA’s Confidential Information Unit (CIU) is responsible for managing the Speak Up Program, WADA’s secure platform for collecting allegations from anyone who observes anti-doping misconduct.
The CIU’s number one priority is to protect the identity of confidential sources (informants and whistleblowers) who come forward with information. As such, the CIU is staffed by Confidential Information Managers (CIMs) – dedicated professionals with extensive experience in the field of confidential information and source handling.
