- When we first got into the situation that Marcell Jacobs could not compete in the 100-meter due to injury, we are very pleased that we can replace him with another Olympic champion from Tokyo, namely Canadian Andre De Grasse, says meeting director for Oslo Bislett Games, Steinar Hoen.
De Grasse won the 200-meter in Tokyo - in addition to being third in the 100-meter and was part of the Canadian team that took silver in the 4x100 meter relay.
He also has three Olympic medals from Rio in 2016 and four World Championships medals - most recently silver in the 200 meters and bronze in the 100 meters from the World Cup in Doha.
The 27-year-old from Ontario, with a personal record of 9.89, is also undefeated on his three previous Bislett starts; at 100 meters in 2016 and 2017 and at 200 meters in 2021.
