"We have received exactly the disciplines we wanted, and thus it seems that we can invite to Scandinavian party night at Bislett June 10th this summer". This is what meeting director Steinar Hoen said in connection with the Wanda Diamond League today announcing which events are included in the international program for the various DL meetings in 2021.
The international program consists of 100 meters, 800 meters, 5000 meters, 400 meters hurdles, long jump and javelin for women - as well as 200 meters, 400m hurdles, Mile 1609m, 3000/5000 meters (to be clarified later), pole vault, triple jump and discus for men.
“This means we can offer the disciplines of Norwegian stars like Karsten Warholm, the Ingebrigtsen Brothers, Hedda Hynne, Karoline Bjerkeli Grøvdal, Amalie Iuel, just to name a few”, he says.
“We have also secured the disciplines of top Swedish athletes like the world record holder Mondo Duplantis in pole vault and world champion Daniel Ståhl in discus, and Danish Olympic silver medalist Sara Slott Petersen in the 400m Hurdles", Hoen concludes.
