Bislett Stadium 1930 – 1939

Stunning 17 World Records in Athletics was set during these 10 years. The two most sensational was in 1934, Jack Torrance (USA) which improved the Shot Put record with 51 centimetre to 17,40 m and in 1936, Forrest Towns (USA) who run the 110 m Hurdles in 13,7 sec. In the 1930s Bislett Stadium was packed with events in professional Boxing, Speedskating, Gymnastics and Football.  Eight out of ten National Championships in Athletics was held at Bislett.
