100th anniversary Bislett Stadium

The grand opening of the Bislett Stadium took place 8th of October 1922. In the following seven years, several sports had its first events in the arena. The National Championship in Speedskating 1923. The first edition of the annual Holmenkollstafetten (relay) 1923. The first world record in Athletics at Bislett in 1924, Adriaan Paulens NL, 500 m in 1.03,8 minutes. World Championship in Speedskating in 1925, World Champion Clas Thunberg FIN. In 1925 World record by the Norwegian Charles Hoff, 4,23 m in Pole Vault. Four National Championships in Athletics 1926 – 1929.
