With the South African in place, this year's Wanda Diamond League meeting is one attraction richer, and a little fun fact is that the meeting now has the world record holder in the 400 meters both with and without hurdles at the start list.
The 30-year-old really broke through with his World Championships gold in Beijing 2015, running 43.48. The following year he won the Olympics in a new world record before he followed up with another World Championships gold, and a silver at the 200 meters, in London 2017.
Later that year, he suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury during a rugby match, causing him to miss both the 2018 and 2019 seasons. It has taken time to come back, but now he is approaching the 43s again.
And we're just reminding you of the track record at Bislett, set by the second fastest of all time over the distance. In 1985, Michael Johnson ran 43.86. Could that record be about to fall?
