The Dream Mile — More History at Bislett?
Arguably the world’s most famous track race, the Dream Mile at Oslo’s Bislett stadium will again attract the interest of sports fans from all corners of the globe. Once more the time honoured event will be the climax of the ExxonMobil Bislett Games on 11 June.

Word Record holder Renaud Lavillenie knows Bislett well
France’s Renaud Lavillenie returns to Oslo’s ExxonMobil Bislett Games not only as the new World Record holder but also as the Olympic Champion. Lavillenie has participated in the Diamond League event in Oslo twice before, in 2010 and 2012, and was a winner on both occasions. Victory at Bislett is a feat that was never accomplished by former greats of the event like former World Record holder Sergey Bubka and Olympic Champion Steve Hooker.

"The King" returns - Carl Lewis to Bislett as guest of honour
It was 25 years ago that the legendary Carl Lewis, the “athlete of century”, competed in a tightly contested 100m race at the old Bislett Stadium. It was an important day for Lewis; it was his 28th birthday. This year the man himself, often known as “the King” and the winner of two Olympic and three World Championship 100m titles will return to Oslo to be the guest of honour at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games. Maybe he will witness the rise of the next Olympic 100m champion at the Diamond League race in Oslo on 11 June.

Renaud Lavillenie to compete at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games
The new pole vault World Record holder, Renaud Lavillenie, will compete at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Oslo on Wednesday 11 June. The French pole vaulter claimed his place among the all-time great track and field athletes when he cleared 6.16 metres on 15 February this year, beating the 21-year-old record of the pole vaulting legend Sergey Bubka.
