7.14pm – Kanter wins SDL Discus Throw competition

2.33 hours and Usain Bolt, “Lightning Bolt”, will run on the Bislett stadium track for the first time in his career.

In the meantime, 2008 Olympic Champion and 2007 World Champion Gerd Kanter (EST) won the Men’s Discus Throw competition with 65.14m in his first attempt. The competition was affected by a rain. Overall, almost 50% of the throws (23 out of 51) were invalid. Yénnifer Frank Casanas from Spain got second place; he threw the discus in his last attempt 64.54m; Virgilijius Alekna (LTU) secured third place (64.00m). Zoltan Kovago (HUN) achieved his season’s best with 62.61m which placed him fifth. In the SDL stading, Kanter is now alone in the lead.
