Two jumps were enough for Fabiana Murer from, Brazil to win the Women’s Pole Vault competition. The Brazilian came third in Eugene a few days ago successfully cleared 4.40m and 4.60m in Oslo. Aleksandra Kiryashova (RUS) jumped a Season’s Best of 4.50m and finished second, and Anna Rogowska (POL) secured the third place by clearing 4.40m.
In the Women’s 400m hurdles Zuzana Hejnova (CZE) won in 54.38 in front of Perri Shakes-Drayton (GBR) in 54.77 (SB) and Natalia Antyukh (RUS) in 55.45.
Amantle Monthso (BOT) showed all her strengths in the Women’s 400m with a Season’s best of 50.10. The African Champion improved her best time of the year, achieved at the SDL meet in Eugene, by 0.49 seconds. Monthso outran Denisa Scerbova-Rosolova (CZE/51.04) and Novlene Williams-Mills (JAM/51.17).
A new 2011 World lead and a stadium record was set by Paul Koech (KEN) in the Men’s 3000m steeplechase. From the beginning, the runners from Kenya made the pace. With two laps to go, Koech broke away and flew to 8:01.83. His compratriot Moses Kiptanui had run 8:03.36 in 1995. Runner-up was Olympic Champion Brimin Kiprop Kipruto (KEN) in 8:05.40, third the Ethiopian Roba Gary in 8:10.41.
The Women’s 100m race was won by Ivet Lalova (BUL) in 11,01 in front of Olesya Povh (UKR) in 11.14 and Ezinne Okparaebo (NOR) in 11.17.
