I believe a sub-10 is possible if the weather is good as I am just beginning to come into form.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span style=\"color:#414141\" lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cIt is a very good field with European and world athletes.&nbsp; A couple of my training partners are here and I love to run with these guys.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">In the 200m women Diamond Discipline, f<\/span><span style=\"color:#414141\" lang=\"EN-US\">ormer heptathlete and Dutch superstar Daphne Schippers will be hoping to celebrate her birthday with more Diamond League points as she continues her preparations to defend her World Championship crown.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span style=\"color:#414141\" lang=\"EN-US\">Schippers, the reigning World Champion at the 200m and silver medalist in Rio, finished fourth in Eugene in a wind assisted 22.30.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span style=\"color:#414141\" lang=\"EN-US\">Her biggest competition is likely to come from Murielle Ahour\u00e9 of Ivory Coast who will start her 200m season in Oslo. <\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span style=\"color:#414141\" lang=\"EN-US\">Last year Schippers <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">set the Meeting Record in the 200m with a time 21.93.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">She said, \u201cI was very happy with my time as it was rainy and cold; we will see tomorrow what is possible.&nbsp; I will make a stab at sub 22 if the weather is good.&nbsp; I will be working hard on the second part of the race as it is important for me to finish strongly.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">Asked about whether they prefer 100m or 200m; De Grasse said \u201cI like the excitement of the 100m, it is fast and has such high respect but maybe I am better at 200m.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">Schippers added, \u201c100m is so fast and over quickly so I like the 200m as I can use my mind more.\u201d&nbsp; <\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">On their goals for the season, Schippers said, \u201cFirst I need to get to the finals at the World Championships [in London] then I will aim to medal.&nbsp; Women\u2019s sprinting is very fast this season and it is at the Worlds where we have to deliver.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">De Grasse commented, \u201cI am going to run in the 100m, 200m and 4 x100m at the Championships.&nbsp; It is a very interesting time in men\u2019s sprinting with Usain Bolt retiring this year.&nbsp; It will be very sad to see him go.&nbsp; He has done so much for the sport and I love racing against him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cI start every race aiming to do my best.&nbsp; I set very high goals.&nbsp; I do not think about racing Usain; I just focus on my lane and think about executing my own race.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Olympic silver medal winner, Canadian Andre De Grasse returns to Oslo looking to repeat last...","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[20],"tags":[],"city":[],"class_list":["post-1097","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-oslo"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/oslo.diamondleague.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1097","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/oslo.diamondleague.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/oslo.diamondleague.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/oslo.diamondleague.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1097"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/oslo.diamondleague.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1097\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/oslo.diamondleague.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1097"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/oslo.diamondleague.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1097"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/oslo.diamondleague.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1097"},{"taxonomy":"city","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/oslo.diamondleague.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/city?post=1097"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
