The 24-year-old athlete, who has already reached 67.78m this year, threw the discus 63.93m, winning in front of Zaneta Glanc (POL/62.16m/SB) and Aretha D. Thurmond (USA) who achieved 61.80m. An interesting side-fact: Cuba’s Barrios, the winner of Doha’s competition, failed her first three attempts and had to quit the competition. Müller realised her winning throw in the first round, and had five invalid attempts afterwards.

Meanwhile, another super-star of the meet waved an early goodbye. Olympic Champion Steven Hooker did not clear the initial high of 5.40m. “I felt good during the warm-up, but during my jumps ist was very difficult to cope with the wind. That’s pole vault, this can happen in every event”, Hooker said. At the moment, the Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie is in the lead with 5.70m.

Norway’s Jørgen Halse Johansen won the 800m in 1:50.04 minutes; in the following race, Jack Meredith from Great Britain established a new National Junior Record. In the110 m hurdles (U20/national event), he passed the finishing line in 13.32 seconds. “I wanted to break my personal best from some days ago; today, we had good weather so I was able to do it. My start could still be better, but I am on the right way. It is a good feeling to be the best in UK with such a hurdling tradition”, Meredith said.

The promotional 100m hurdles was won by Tiffany Ofili (USA) in 13.06 seconds, and Manuel Olmedo (ESP) won the 1500m of the same category in 3:36.98.

[20
["post-1049","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-oslo
["GET
